Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 2) — The number of aspirants in the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) has so far reached 1.18 million, the Commission on Elections said Saturday.
According to the poll body’s latest report, 724,005 people have filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) for the barangay positions, while 457,399 are eyeing seats in youth councils.
Today is the last day of COC filing, but this has been extended until Sept. 3 in Ilocos Norte and until Sept. 4 in the National Capital Region and Abra, where it was suspended on Thursday due to the bad weather.
