New COVID-19 cases up by 15% to 894 on Sept. 4-10

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 11) — The country logged 894 new COVID-19 cases from Sept. 4 to 10, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

Its weekly bulletin released on Monday showed that an average of 129 daily cases were tallied, reflecting a 15% increase from the infections recorded in the previous week.

Of the new cases, 10 were in severe condition. Meanwhile, 276 critical patients are in hospitals, representing 9.9% of total COVID-19 admissions nationwide.

Health officials also verified 14 deaths due to COVID-19, 11 of which occurred between Aug. 28 and Sept. 10.

As of Sept. 11, the nationwide tally of confirmed cases since the pandemic began stands at over 4.11 million with 2,647 active cases. At least 4.04 million COVID-19 patients have recovered, while more than 66,600 succumbed to the disease.

The number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 stands at over 78 million, or 100% of the target population, while 23 million individuals have received their booster shots.

At least 7.1 million senior citizens, or 82.16% of the target A2 population, have received the primary series of COVID-19 vaccines.
