Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 25) — The number of deaths among Filipinos in Hawaii due to the devastating wildfires on the island of Maui has increased to three, authorities said Friday.
According to the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, the latest victim is 77-year-old Salvador Coloma.
“The Consulate has reached out to a relative of Mr. Coloma to extend its profound condolences and to offer support and assistance,” it said.
Authorities earlier confirmed that 79-year-old Alfredo Galinato and 76-year-old Rodolfo Rocutan were among the over 100 people killed by the wildfires.
The consulate also said it is still verifying the nationality of other reported casualties.
So far, its records did not include Conchita Sagudang, 75, and Danilo Sagudang, 55, who were reported to be from Abra based on information online.
Antonia Molina, 64, and Carlo Tobias, 54, were also reported to have relatives in the Philippines, but the consulate said its records did not show records for this.
