Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 1) — Blue Eagles point guard Forthsky Padrigao bid the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) goodbye on Monday, shortly after the institution declared him ineligible for UAAP Season 86 due to academic woes.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Padrigao revealed that he has \”to say farewell\” to the ADMU and admitted that he \”made both right and wrong decisions\” during his stay.

\”The past several months have been very difficult, and I fully acknowledge that this is because of mistakes that I made before when I was still in high school, which haunt me to the day,\” Padrigao said.
“I want to express my deepest apologies because, even if I never intended to and I never physically hurt anyone, I have come to realize the gravity of my irresponsible words and actions and the pain they caused others,\” he added.
During his sophomore year, allegations that the Zamboanga native committed sexual abuse floated on social media, but no complaints were filed against him.
\”I’ve kept my silence because my team needed to focus on the games, but I can’t understand how malicious the stories have become since we won, and now I have to answer even for errors I didn’t commit,\” Pagridao said.
\”That’s why attending classes has been getting harder and harder for me, and now even if I want to represent my university as an athlete, I can’t anymore,\” he added.
Despite the farewell, Padrigao expressed his gratitude to ADMU for giving him “a chance to study” in his “dream school,\” as well as to his coaches, teammates, classmates and teachers and those in the community.
\”There is a lot I have to learn to redeem myself… I hope those I’ve hurt will heal. I hope somehow in this journey I’ll make my parents proud again,\” he added.
Padrigao, a Season 85 Mythical Five member, played a crucial role in the Blue Eagles’ championship run last season, averaging 11.6 points, 4.2 boards, 4.9 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.
ADMU said Padrigao will use his time to focus on his academics and hoped to see him back in the UAAP court once he “fulfills his responsibilities as an Ateneo student.”
The university put the 21-year-old under \”academic probation\” for his junior year after not being able to make the general weighted average quota for sophomores.
