Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 11) — Kai Sotto’s debut in the NBA Summer League has to wait a little longer as he was benched again in the Orlando Magic’s second game in the preseason tournament.
The Magic fell to the Indiana Pacers, 108-85, Tuesday (Philippine time) at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Just like in Orlando’s opening loss to the Detroit Pistons last Saturday, Sotto was a DNP-CD (Did Not Play-Coach’s Decision) as Magic Summer League head coach Dylan Murphy stuck with an 11-player rotation.
\”Here in the Summer League, I just got to put in the work and stay ready when the coach calls my name,\” Sotto said in an NBA interview.
DJ Wilson was the starting center for Orlando, logging in more than 27 minutes of action. He finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Caleb Houstan led the Magic with 18 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
Andrew Nembhard tallied a game-high 21 points along with seven assists and three rebounds for the Pacers.
