Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 11) — West zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. on Tuesday assured its affected customers that its announced service interruptions are already the worst that may happen.
“The schedule that we posted assumes a worst-case scenario already, which means that the actual experience should be shorter than announced,” Maynilad spokesperson Jen Rufo told CNN Philippines’ The Source.
On Monday, the company announced the list of areas affected by the long hours of water interruption after the allocation for water concessionaires was reduced to 48 cubic meters per second (cms) from 50 cms.
The reduction was due to the declining water level in Angat Dam, which was at 178.8 meters as of Tuesday morning. This is below its minimum operating level of 180 meters.
Maynilad said almost 600,000 of its customers in parts of Caloocan, Malabon, Manila, Navotas, Quezon City, and Valenzuela will experience at least 9 hours of service interruption from 7 p.m. to 4a.m.
