
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 28) — Pole vaulter EJ Obiena won the bronze medal on Wednesday (Manila time) after clearing 5.90 meters at the Golden Spike meet in the Czech Republic.

Olympic gold medalist Armand Duplantis of Sweden won gold in the tournament after clearing 6.12 meters.
Meanwhile, Australia’s Kurt Marshall, who also had a clearance of 5.90 meters, bagged the silver medal.
Obiena’s next stop is the Bauhaus-Galan meet in Stockholm, Sweden on July 2 as he aims for a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
