Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 20) –– The comedy-drama film “The Adventures of Kween Jhonabelle” dominated the Manila Film Festival, taking home nine awards including Best Picture.
The film about family and dealing with cancer also bagged the Best Sound, Best Production Design, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and Top Grosser awards.
The film’s director and writer Carlo James Buwan was named Best Director while Larizze Jason Eco and Kian Co took home the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor titles, respectively.
The movie \”CTRL-F-ESC\” came in second with five awards, including Best Musical Score, Best Theme Song, Catalyst for Change, and Best Screenplay. Kych Minemoto who played \”Angelo\” in the film bagged the Best Actor title.
