Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 6) — The NLEX Road Warriors have cut ties with JR Quiñahan who took part in unsanctioned games in Cebu last month, which ended up in a brawl with a foreign team.
Quiñahan did not seek clearance from the team management and the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) to play in the exhibition game.
\”Following a thorough investigation, it was found that Quiñahan had committed several infractions of his Uniform Players’ Contract, including, among others, playing in unsanctioned games without seeking clearance from NLEX management and the Philippine Basketball Association,\” the statement of NLEX Road Warriors read.
With this, the cager is now a free agent and can play for other PBA teams.
Quiñahan and nine other players were heavily fined by the PBA for their involvement in the unsanctioned game.
