Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 3) — Results of the probe into the alleged drug ties of two police generals and two colonels will be made public this week.

\”We are going to make a statement about this okay. Just give us about probably two days so that we can cover all legalities. We just want that when we make a statement, all of these are airtight,\” Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos said in a media briefing Wednesday.
Former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief and head of the five-man advisory group Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said they have recommended the filing of complaints against the four ranking police officials.
The four are among the 36 remaining officials who are subject to further review by the National Police Commission (Napolcom), according to Azurin.

990-kg shabu haul cover-up

Abalos also said the Napolcom Task Force created to look into the alleged cover-up in the 990 kilogram shabu drug haul is set to release its findings in a couple of weeks.
The investigation is not yet complete as there are still so many questions to be answered, the secretary added.
Questions were raised on the anti-drug operation in October last year after Abalos revealed an attempt to cover up Police Sergeant Rodolfo Mayo’s arrest.
Authorities seized nearly a metric ton of shabu — or the local version of methamphetamine hydrochloride — worth ₱6.7 billion in Mayo’s property.

On April 15, PNP Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management chief Maj. Gen. Eliseo Cruz said 49 people from the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group, including its former chief PBGen. Narciso Domingo, will be facing complaints over their involvement in the controversial drug bust.

But some of those implicated, including Domingo, denied the allegations of a cover-up.
