More Filipino repatriates from Sudan arrive home

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 2) — The fourth batch of Filipinos from conflict-torn Sudan arrived in the country on Tuesday evening, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said.

The 34 evacuees bring to 66 the total number of Filipinos to be repatriated from Sudan after being forced to flee the North African nation amid the violent power struggle between two warring factions.

Representatives from OWWA, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and other agencies welcomed the repatriates at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.
