International arrivals break 2M mark – DOT

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 14) — The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Sunday said over 2 million international visitors have arrived in the country so far, well over the 2022 target of 1.7 million.

“Citing the latest data from the DOT, Secretary Cristina Frasco said the country recorded 2,002,304 international visitor arrivals from January 1 to May 12, 2023, already exceeding the entire year’s target for 2022 of 1.7 million foreign visitors,” the agency said in a statement on Sunday.

The most number of visitors came from the following countries:South Korea – 487,502US – 352,894Australia – 102,494Canada – 98,593Japan -97,329China – 75,043Taiwan – 62,654United Kingdom – 62,291Singapore – 53,359Malaysia – 36,789
