
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 10) — The Department of Health logged 1,944 new COVID-19 cases from April 3 to April 9, an increase of 13% compared with the previous week’s figures.
The agency said that during this week, the average number of daily cases was 278, with 30 verified deaths.
It added that 17 of the new infections were severe and critical cases.
Currently hospitalized are 378 severe and critical patients, representing 10.2% of all COVID-19 admissions.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region jumped to 6.5% on April 8, the OCTA research group said.
This is an increase of 2.1% in just one week, compared to NCR’s positivity rate of 4.4% last April 1.
