
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 3) — The oil spill off Oriental Mindoro has affected 80% of the 34 marine protected areas in 10 municipalities, the local government reported Friday.
In a press briefing, a provincial agriculture official representative said a total of 26 marine protected areas down to Bulalacao from Naujan were affected by the oil spill.
Aside from Bulalacao and Naujan, marine protected areas in Pola, Pinamalayan, Gloria, Bansud, Bongabong, Roxas, Mansalay, and Calapan City were also affected.
