DOH sees slight increase in COVID-19 cases, but no need to bring back restrictions

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 28) — COVID-19 cases are slightly increasing in the country, but the rise is not yet significant, the Department of Health said on Tuesday.

Health Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire said the seven-day daily average rose from 156 on March 14-20 to 207 on March 21-27.

She said there is no need to impose strict restrictions yet since the number of hospital admissions, severe cases, and deaths are all manageable.

\”Ang COVID-19 sa ating bansa, may kaunting pagtaas. As of now, this kind of increase and decrease in the number of cases, expected yan kasi the virus is still here,\” she said.
