COVAX-donated bivalent vaccines awaiting legal clearance – DOH

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 28) — At least a million donated COVID-19 bivalent vaccines from the global facility COVAX facility is awaiting legal clearance even as health officials expressed confidence that these will arrive in the country.

The vaccines were earlier announced to arrive in March, but Health Department Officer-In-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire said the Department of Justice and Office of the Solicitor General are reviewing legal remedies on the required clauses on indemnity and immunity from liability.

She said the commitment and deliveries will push through, but could not give a specific arrival date.

\”[We are] exhausting all means,\” she said in a media briefing. \” For now naka-hold [it’s on hold] but we are confident we can get the COVAX donation.\”
