Community pantry organizer shares love this Valentine’s Day through ‘gulay bouquets

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 9) — The “gulay bouquets” made by a community pantry organizer will not only make Valentine’s Day celebration extra special and unique as they will also help Filipino farmers.

Ana Patricia Non of Community Pantry PH said proceeds from the sale of gulay bouquets will be used by the organization to buy more vegetables from Filipino farmers and also help reduce food waste.

Kaya po namin na-start ‘yung gulay bouquet, parang din siyang kwento ng community pantry na out of necessity,” Non told CNN Philippines’ New Day on Thursday.

She explained that the concept of the program is sharing love, not only among couples, but also with the community.

Parang [kung] gusto nating ibalik ‘yun, dapat may extension ‘yung pagmamahal natin para sa iba, ibang way ng healthy, mas accepting na love,” she added.

Gulay bouquets are sold at ₱1,500 each. Currently, the NGO already reached its quota for the number of orders, Non said.

There is still next year for those who would want to avail of the unique Valentine’s Day offering, she also said.
