Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 17) — Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong Jr. was hurt in an ambush Friday afternoon, but four of his aides were killed while another was wounded.
Police said Adiong and his companions were attacked by still unidentified gunmen as they passed by Maguing town on their way to Wao. Adiong was hit in the waist while one of his aides was hit in the feet.
The two were brought to the Kalilangan Hospital in Bukidnon for treatment.
