Araneta City bus terminal operations may resume this weekend – LTFRB

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 10) — Operations at the Araneta City bus terminal – which was hit by a fire on Thursday – are expected to resume this weekend, according to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

In a statement issued Friday, the LTFRB said operations of modernized jeepneys may start on Saturday, Feb. 11, while the terminal may be \”fully operational\” by Sunday, Feb. 12.

[Translation: The LTFRB is ensuring that operations in the terminal won’t be delayed despite the incident so we can continue providing service to our fellow countrymen going to their destinations.]

Authorities earlier said they were planning to put up a temporary terminal for public utility vehicles affected by the blaze.

However, the LTFRB and Araneta management have determined that the terminal is in good condition.

Thursday’s fire broke out at 4:46 p.m. and was declared out at 10:29 p.m., according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
