Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 9) — CNN Philippines won the title of Premier Business Best Broadcast Media Company in the Philippines at the first Southeast Asian Premier Business and Achiever Awards.
The awards body recognized the network for its “outstanding service excellence” Friday night at the Winford Resort & Casino Manila in Sta. Cruz.
CNN Philippines Assistant Vice President for News Joe Carlos accepted the award in behalf of the network.
Carlos thanked the award-giving body in a statement, saying, “always at CNN Philippines, we place a strong emphasis on accuracy and fairness, ensuring we tell stories that are relevant, compelling and attractive to our audiences.\”
Government officials were also honored, including Inspiring Dynamic Governor of Dinagat Islands awardee Nilo Demerey.
When asked about what it takes to be a dynamic and inspiring public servant, Demerey said, \”You got to be simple, and you got to be rational. To be able to serve the people is you got to be simple to understand what they need.\”
Other winners include stars like Alden Richards for Outstanding Entrepreneur and Inspiring Male Celebrity Actor, Julie Anne San Jose for Inspiring Female Singer of the year, and Jed Madela for Outstanding Vocal Coach, Songwriter and Singer.
\”This truly inspires and encourages me to be better in my craft, and continue to impart my knowledge to the future generation of artists,\” Madela said.
