“All 15 Filipinos onboard attacked vessel in Red Sea are safe – DMW \ \ \n”

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 16) — The 15 Filipino seafarers onboard the container ship that was attacked in Red Sea are all safe, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said Saturday.

DMW officer-in-charge Hans Cacdac said the Al Jasrah vessel “was the subject of a drone attack” on Friday.

“All 15 [Filipino] seafarers on board the container ship Al Jasrah are safe and unharmed,” said Cacdac in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

According to the United States Central Command, the Iran-backed rebel group Houthis struck Al Jasrah and another Liberian-flagged commercial ship.

The Al Jasrah vessel “immediately broadcast a mayday signal that said the crew was fighting a fire caused by the attack.”

The US CENTCOM said the fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported by any of the attacked ships.
