Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 26) – Starting Oct. 26 until Nov. 6, provincial buses will be allowed to pass through EDSA from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., as more people are expected to travel out of town for Undas, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Thursday
Buses from the north should end their trips at their terminals in Cubao, Quezon City while buses from the south will stop at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.
To ensure the safety of passengers, the MMDA inspected bus terminals in Cubao and checked if their deployed personnel are assisting travelers.
The agency expects the number of passengers to spike starting Friday night. But some Filipinos opted to travel early to avoid large crowds.
“Mahirap po umuwi nang traffic. Mahaba po ‘yung pila nu’n [It’s hard to go home when traffic is heavy, the lines get very long],” Leonard Gatcho, a passenger, told CNN Philippines.
Ruby Manuel, another passenger, said she was leaving early \”para ‘di tayo ma-traffic. Ngayon, medyo okay naman, maluwag [so that I don’t get in stuck in traffic. So far, it’s still okay].”
