
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 5) — The Department of Health (DOH) said samples of the eight unvaccinated Filipinos from China who tested positive for COVID-19 have already been sent to the Philippine Genome Center for sequencing, with results expected by next week.
The DOH added it is coordinating with the Bureau of Quarantine for the contact tracing status of the Filipinos who tested positive in antigen tests upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

On Wednesday, the DOH said they have been placed under isolation and have undergone confirmatory RT-PCR testing on Dec. 31, 2022, with positive results.
The DOH earlier said it will continue to monitor developments on the matter and advised the public to maintain healthy habits and lifestyle, along with proper sanitation practices, masking, distancing, good ventilation, and vaccination to prevent further transmission of the virus.
