
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 26) — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will be invited to the coronation of Britain’s King Charles III on May 6, British envoy Laure Beaufils told CNN Philippines on Thursday.

Speaking to The Final Word, Beaufils said the UK has already sent the chief executive a “save the date” notice for the coronation.

“We would love to see the president in the UK and he will be getting an invitation. In fact, we’ve already sent him a save the date for the coronation of His Majesty the King which will take place on the 6th of May,” the ambassador said.

Beaufils also said interest in the country has been rising among British businessmen, adding that the UK wants to be among the Philippines’ top investors.
‘
Marcos’ economic team is currently in London for a briefing with UK leaders, bankers, and businessmen.
The coronation of King Charles III will take place at Westminster Abbey.
