The meaning of stars for these new Eastwood City Walk of Fame inductees

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 19) — Eight stars from the arts, media, and sports, among others, were added to the Eastwood City Walk of Fame Wednesday night.

The 17th edition of the induction recognized nine personalities with their five-point brass stars, which included singer Janet Basco, broadcast journalist Gerry Baja, and entertainment reporter Mario Dumaual.

The German Moreno Walk of Fame Foundation also conferred a posthumous award to the late National Artist for Theater Tony Mabesa.

Here’s what some of the personalities said as they saw their names etched in stone during the unveiling ceremony.

Inspiration

Multi-awarded actress Maja Salvador said being part of this year’s inductees in the Eastwood version of the Walk of Fame is an experience worth telling colleagues and invoking inspiration.

‘Yung mga ganitong bagay mas nakaka-inspire pa lalo,” she said.

“Bukod sa pagiging artista, we have our own management now, so nashi-share mo ‘yung mga experiences mo with your artists,” added Salvador, who established her own talent agency Crown Artist Management.
