
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 16) — The country saw a total of 2,934 new COVID-19 cases from Jan. 9 to 15, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday.
In its weekly bulletin, the DOH said it logged a daily average of 419 cases during the week. The latest tally reflected a 6% decrease from the previous week.
Of the new cases, one patient is in critical condition.
Meanwhile, there are 567 severe and critical patients in hospitals, representing 11.1% of the total COVID-19 admissions nationwide.
Health officials also confirmed 116 deaths due to COVID-19, including 14 that occurred between Jan. 2 and 15.
As of Jan. 15, the country had a total of 4,070,287 COVID-19 cases, with 12,143 active infections. A total of 3,992,554 have recovered while 65,590 succumbed to the disease.
The DOH said more than 73 million individuals, or 94.5% of the target population, have been vaccinated against COVID-19, while 21 million individuals already received their booster shots.
