Garafil takes oath as secretary of Presidential Communications Office

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 10) — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday appointed Cheloy Garafil as the new secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), where she previously served as officer-in-charge.

In a social media post, the PCO shared a photo of Marcos leading the oathtaking ceremony.

Garafil stepped down as chairperson of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in October 2022 to serve as officer-in-charge of the then Office of the Press Secretary (OPS).

The OPS was reorganized and renamed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to PCO as stated under Executive Order no. 11 signed on Dec. 29, 2022.
