Grab mobilizes ₱350M fund to support drivers amid fuel crisis

Metro Manila, Philippines- Grab Philippines has rolled out a ₱350-million support program for its driver and delivery partners as rising fuel prices continue to affect earnings.

In a statement, the company said the Grab Bayanihan Fuel Crisis Support Program includes expanded incentives, spot bonuses, and commission rebates aimed at helping partners sustain their livelihoods.

A key component is a new system called Grab Turbo, which allows driver-partners to access a more responsive incentive structure. The initiative has helped reduce effective commission rates for four-wheel mobility services to about 15 percent, the company said.

Grab also launched a Digital Earnings Tracker, enabling drivers to review detailed breakdowns of their income, including fares, commissions, and incentives.

On the delivery side, the company said it has released more than ₱50 million in bonuses for riders as of mid-April, while also offering bicycle subsidies for those shifting to bike-based deliveries.

Additional support includes grocery credits, fuel subsidies, and medical vouchers, depending on partner performance.

Grab said it has also secured fuel discounts through partnerships with oil companies, with over ₱2 million in savings recorded so far under its tie-up with Seaoil, alongside rebates through Shell Fleet Cards.

Grab Philippines Managing Director Ronald Roda said the program is meant to cushion the impact of rising fuel costs on workers.

“When fuel prices rise, livelihoods are the first to feel it… The ₱350 million we have mobilized is designed to keep our driver- and delivery-partners on the road and their families steady through the crisis,” Roda said.

The company said the program will remain in place as it continues to assess fuel price movements and partner needs.

It also pointed to its newly launched Eco-Drive Initiative, which aims to expand access to electric and hybrid vehicles through financing partnerships with banks and automakers, as part of its long-term strategy.
