Metro Manila, Philippines – K-pop vocalist Heesung is parting ways with the group ENHYPEN, label BELIFT LAB confirmed on Tuesday, March 10.
In a statement, the label cited the 24-year-old’s “distinct musical vision” as the reason behind his departure from the group.
“Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that Heesung has his own distinct musical vision, and we have decided to respect it.”
Known as the group’s ace, Heesung will pursue his journey as a soloist under the same company.
BELIFT LAB also revealed that Heesung is preparing for a solo album.
In a separate heartfelt handwritten letter, Heesung shared that he had been preparing for a personal project but said he had to prioritize the group first.
He also stated that the decision came after a suggestion from the company.
“I will work hard to prepare so that I can meet you again soon,” Heesung said to his fans.
ENHYPEN will continue its activities as a six-member group with Jungwon, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jake, Jay, and Ni-ki.
