Mikey Williams set for PBA comeback after nearly three years

Metro Manila, Philippines – Mikey Williams is making a highly anticipated comeback in the PBA as he officially joins the Converge FiberXers.

The FiberXers welcomed the two-time PBA Most Valuable Player on their social media accounts on Wednesday, March 4.

The 34-year-old Williams has not played in the PBA for nearly three years or since steering the TNT Tropang 5G to the 2023 Governors’ Cup title.

Following a contract negotiation impasse, Williams’ signing rights were acquired by Converge for the sharpshooting Jordan Heading in June last year.

Williams will be bringing valuable experience to a young FiberXers core consisting of Juan Gomez de Liaño, Justine Baltazar, Justin Arana, and Alec Stockton.

Converge also recently beefed up its lineup by getting Calvin Abueva who is in a resurgence from Titan Ultra and promising forward Jonnel Policarpio from NLEX in different trades.

The PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup tips off on March 11 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
