Marcos decision on ICI report may be released this  month – Palace

Metro Manila, Philippines – Palace press officer Claire Castro on Friday, Feb. 20, said results of President Bongbong Marcos’ assessment of the reports submitted by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) may be released within the month.

In a media briefing, Castro said the president has read the 1,000-page document and is carefully studying it to determine the next steps.

“Pinag-aaralan nang mabuti kung ano ang susunod na hakbang,” said Castro.

“Wala pa po tayong masasagot patungkol diyan dahil patuloy po ang pag-aaral sa report ng ICI,” Castro added when asked whether the fact-finding body had achieved its mission following the president’s directive.

[Translation: We cannot provide an answer regarding that matter yet because the study of the ICI report is still ongoing.]

Meanwhile, the Palace official said the ICI continues to perform its duties without any restraint, following the statement, “…we will fight to the very end, if allowed,” made by ICI Chairman Andres Reyes Jr. on Thursday, Feb. 19.

“‘Yan po siguro ang nilalaman ng kanilang report at ‘yan po ang pinag-aaralan ng pangulo,” Castro responded after Reyes’ remark that the ICI could have done more.

[Translation: That is likely included in their report, and that is what the president is studying.]
