Frasco orders take-down of her image in promotional materials

Metro Manila, Philippines – Following a frank exchange with Sen. Ramon Tulfo during a committee hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 3, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco said she has directed regional offices to remove her image from the agency’s promotional materials.

The Cabinet official said in a news forum on Wednesday, Feb. 4, that she doesn’t mind issuing the directive since she is not seeking a national post.

“I have actually already issued an order to regional offices, as far as we are concerned, in DoT (Department of Tourism) to take down any material that may bear my image, and to not produce any material that bears my image,” said Frasco.

“I have said this before and I will say it again with a clear conscience and with full confidence, I have no intention of running for any national position, therefore, it makes absolutely no sense for me to promote myself,”  she said.

Frasco said she was just doing her job.

“Could there perhaps be room for the argument that I’m very visible because I’m simply working?” she said.
