Metro Manila, Philippines – The Department of Justice (DOJ) has noted the recent actions and remarks of government contractor Sarah Discaya, which the agency described as a “sign of insincerity and complacency” amid her bid for witness protection.
Discaya was seen giving a finger heart to reporters when she visited the DOJ on Saturday, Sept. 27. When she left the DOJ building in Manila, she asked the media to produce good memes of her.
“The heart sign and the remarks of Ms. Sarah Discaya are all taken into account in the assessment and evaluation of the persons involved,” Justice spokesperson Mico Clavano said on Sunday, Sept. 28.
“It is a sign of insincerity and complacency,” Clavano added.
The DOJ is still evaluating her and her husband Curlee Discaya’s application to the Witness Protection Program after their testimonies in congressional investigations into alleged anomalies in flood control projects.
“We urge all persons of interest in this case to behave accordingly,” Clavano said.
The DOJ released on Friday the list of personalities that the National Bureau of Investigation recommended for filing of charges in connection with the flood control corruption.

The recommendations were based on sworn affidavits of former Department of Public Works and Highways engineers Henry Alcantara, Brice Hernandez, Jaypee Mendoza, and Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo.
