Metro Manila, Philippines – Barefoot Theatre Collaborative first staged “Mula sa Buwan” as its inaugural production in 2022, fresh from the COVID-19 pandemic that forced theaters across the country to close their doors indefinitely. Two years later, amid the busiest theater season in the country, the musical comes back braver than ever.
The three leads – Myke Salomon, Gab Pangilinan, and MC Dela Cruz – will be reprising their roles as Cyrano, Roxane, and Christian respectively.
Many familiar faces from the 2022 run will also be making their comeback. Phi Palmos and Jillian Ita-as will be returning as Rosanna and Gabriel, as well as some of the beloved cadets, Rapah Manalo as Rosario, Khalil Tambio as Limon, Jep Go as Gimo, and Ericka Peralejo as Carissa.
Returning ensemble members include Chesko Rodriguez as Filemon, Mikaela Regis as Dalisay, Liway Perez as Maila, Ace Polias as Miguel, Keith Sumbi as Felizidad, and Lance Reblando as Serafina.
The 2024 run will add new stars to its troupe of dreamers. Audiences will be seeing Jerom Canlas as Tato, Omar Uddin as Maestro, and Brian Sy as Maximo.
Also joining the cast as members of the ensemble are Ade Valenzona, Daniel Wesley, Jannah Baniasia, Cheska Quimno, Dippy Arceo, Iya Villanueva, and Jules Dela Paz.
Finally, the upcoming staging will feature Paw Castillo as the standby for Cyrano, Teetin Villanueva as the standby for Roxane and the female swing, and Rofe Villarino as the male swing.
At the helm of Mula sa Buwan is Mikko Angeles as director. Joining him are Myke Salomon as musical director, Ohm David as set designer, Meliton Roxas Jr. as lighting designer, JM Cabling as choreographer, and Bonsai Cielo as costume designer.
“Mula sa Buwan” will have a limited run from Aug. 16 to Sept. 8 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati.
