
Metro Manila, Philippines – Parts of the country will have a rainy weekend, May 25, enhanced by Tropical Depression Aghon that is moving closer to land mass.

A 5 p.m. bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Aghon will bring rains with gusty winds over Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga.
Aghon’s trough will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, the rest of the Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao.
Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Batanes will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA issued a warning against potential floods or landslides.
The weather bureau monitored Aghon 135 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or 185 kilometers east southeast of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
Storm track
The weather disturbance is expected to intensify into a tropical storm and make landfall over the southern portion of Eastern Samar or Dinagat Islands on Saturday morning.
It may make another landfall over the southeastern portion of Bicol after traversing the coast of Northern Samar.
