“Galang, Maraño sign with Chery Tiggo Crossovers \n”

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 2) — Ara Galang and Aby Maraño crossed over to the Chery Tiggo Crossovers for the coming 2024 season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

The two are the latest ex-F2 Logistics Cargo Movers players to find a new home after the club team disbanded.

Galang said she is excited to play in a new environment after being part of a team that was mostly composed of fellow players from De La Salle University (DLSU) for a long time.

“Super excited din kasi unang-una, first time ko lang din makasama ng iba talaga eh…Excited akong makatrabaho, makalaro ‘yung mga bata,” she said in a video message posted on Chery’s Facebook page.

Maraño, who was the team captain of the Cargo Movers, said that fans can still expect her renowned leadership skills and fighting spirit.

\”They (the fans) have known me as a player with a very big heart— very passionate, vocal, and a leader,” she said in a statement published on PVL’s website Tuesday. “So, I want them to expect that from me. Going to Chery Tiggo, I will bring all of that.”

Galang and Maraño were both named season’s most valuable players in UAAP Season 75 where the DLSU Lady Spikers also won the championship.

With the two latest recruits, the Crossovers are hoping to return to the podium after finishing fourth in the PVL All-Filipino Conference last December.

The Crossovers’ last PVL medal was during the Open Conference in 2021 where they won their first championship.
