PH rises to 73rd spot in world’s most powerful passport list

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 11) — The Philippine passport climbed two places in this year’s Henley Passport Index, ranking 73rd among the world’s most powerful passports.

The 2024 Henley Passport Index showed the country’s passport – along with Cape Verde Islands and Uganda – provides visa-free access to 69 destinations.

The Philippines previously ranked 75th with visa-free access to 67 places in the Henley index released in January last year.

Meanwhile, six countries occupy the top spot: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain.

Citizens of these countries can enjoy visa-free access to 194 destinations around the world – the highest number recorded since the Henley Passport Index began tracking global travel freedoms in 2005.

The index was produced by the London-based global citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley & Partners, using data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
