Metro Manila, Philippines – Former ‘90s actor and now politician Matthew Mendoza made a rare return to showbiz circles as he proudly supported his daughter after the film she stars in won Best Picture at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
His daughter Bea is among the cast of “I’m Perfect,” featuring young actors with Down syndrome, including his own child.
Mendoza, now a councilor in Puerto Princesa, said he and his wife immediately agreed to let Bea join the project, describing it as aligned with their long-standing advocacy.
“Proud dad moment,” Mendoza wrote in his Facebook post after attending the MMFF Gabi ng Parangal on Dec. 27.
“My wife and I have been part of the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines since our child was born. This advocacy is very close to our hearts,” Mendoza said in a previous interview.
