Metro Manila, Philippines – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, administered the oath of office to Acting Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto and Acting Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go in a ceremony at the Malacañang Palace Study Room.
The appointments, announced Tuesday, highlighted the administration’s emphasis on experienced leadership in government and economic policy, said Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro.
“The extensive experience of Recto in economic policy, financial legislation, and national planning demonstrates his capability to manage government operations and oversee the implementation of key programs,” Castro said.
Recto was former finance secretary, socioeconomic planning secretary and director-general of the National Economic and Development Authority in 2008, and member of the Monetary Board.
Go, formerly special assistant to the president for investment and economic affairs, has held key roles in the private sector, including president and CEO of Robinsons Land Corporation, chairman of RL Commercial REIT, Inc., and chairman/vice chairman of Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corporation. He is now responsible for guiding the country’s financial direction and implementing the administration’s economic objectives.
“These leadership changes reflect President Marcos’ commitment to strengthening institutions, improving government coordination, and ensuring the administration remains focused on providing stability, opportunity, and security for Filipinos,” Castro said.
