Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — About 70 percent of Filipinos are “happy” with their jobs, according to recent report from Jobstreet Philippines.

The employment website’s Job Satisfaction report released on Wednesday (September 2) also revealed that 15 percent of respondents are “very happy,” while 55 percent are “quite happy.”

On the other hand, 25 percent said that they are “quite unhappy,” and the remaining 5 percent said they were “very unhappy.”

The report also showed that the level of happiness decreases as employees climb the corporate ladder: fresh graduates were happiest at 79 percent, while managers scored the lowest at 66 percent.

Levels of satisfaction also decreased as employees stayed longer in their jobs. Those who have been staying for less than a year were most “satisfied” at 75 percent, while only 62 percent of those who have been staying for more than five years consider themselves “happy.”

The top reasons for satisfaction? “Salary, company benefits and incentives.” Such were followed by an employee’s “job role,” and “career growth and learning.”

Differences in happiness were also found to depend on an employee’s position: fresh graduates are at their happiest when it comes to salary, while junior executives and supervisors seek pleasant relationships with colleagues and bosses. Managers and directors prioritize satisfaction with job roles.

Those who leave their job say it’s because of low salary, poor relationships with colleagues, and lack of programs for personal and career growth.
