Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Kiefer Ravena made a timely triple to spearhead the Gilas Cadets to an 80-75 win over Thailand on Sunday (June 14) in the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore.
Troy Rosario bannered the Philippine squad with 27 points, while Almond Vosotros poured in 18. Ravena, who hit a crucial three-pointer with 16.2 seconds left, finished with 12 markers.
Thailand was up by 10 points, 43-33, at the half before Rosario and Vosotros rallied the nationals back in the game.
Vosotros also knocked down six triples in the game, including one that put Philippines ahead, 62-59.
After Philippines went up by three, Thailand drew within one after a pair of free throws with 35.9 seconds left before Ravena made the game-clinching three-pointer.
