SEA Games Volleyball: Maraño believes PH women’s team slowly getting in sync

The Philippine women’s volleyball team is getting in sync, but there’s still much work cut out for the Filipinos according to Aby Maraño.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Following the straight-set manhandling of Malaysia in the Southeast Asian Games, Aby Maraño believes the Philippine women’s volleyball team is slowly showing its true form.

“The team is getting better now. We are getting to know each other so we are gelling inside the court,” Maraño told CNN Philippines.

The Philippines made quick work of Malaysia, 25-15, 25-18, 25-16, in the regional meet in Singapore on Thursday (June 11).

“Little by little, I believe the team will eventually get the perfect rhythm that we need para mas well-orchestrated kami when playing.”

Still, there’s much work cut out for the Filipino volleyball players especially on defense according to Marano.

“So far, we need to work on with our reception, more of the defense and of the service because that’s where we get our errors,” she explained.

“We’ll still try to minimize our errors.”

The Philippines will have the chance to improve its 1-1 record when it faces Vietnam on Saturday (June 13).
