
(CNN Philippines) — Typhoon Dodong (internationally known as Noul) maintained its strength on Saturday (May 9) as it moved 20 kph towards the eastern coast of Luzon, according to the 11:00 a.m. bulletin released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
It has maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph.
PAGASA said Dodong would probably make landfall over the coast of the Isabela-Cagayan area by early Sunday (May 10) and will exit Philippine territory by Monday evening (May 11).
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has been on red alert since Friday.
According to PAGASA’s hourly updates at its website, as of 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dodong’s center was located at 408 km east of Infanta, Quezon.
