NBA: Carroll leads Hawks to even series with Wizards; Grizzlies beat Warriors in Conley’s return

DeMarre Carroll led the Atlanta Hawks with 22 points as they evened up the series against the Washington Wizards

(CNN Philippines) —  DeMarre Carroll scored 22 points to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a victory over the Washington Wizards 106-90 to even up their National Basketball Association (NBA) Eastern Conference semifinals series at 1-1 on Wednesday (May 6 PHT).

Paul Millsap notched a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to help the Hawks take advantage of John Wall’s absence.

John Wall went on to finish the game after injuring his left wrist in the second quarter of the Wizard’s victory over the Hawks in their series opener.

Wall was replaced by Ramon Sessions, who led the Wizards with 21 points and 4 assists.

In the Western Conference semifinals, Michael Conley came back just after eight days after having facial surgery to end the Golden State Warrior’s 21-game winning streak, leading the Memphis Grizzlies to a win to tie the series at 1-1.

Conley scored 22 points, Zach Randolph had 20 points and 7 rebounds.

Steph Curry led the Warriors, which committed 20 turnovers and shot just 41.9% from the field, with 19 points, six assists, and five rebounds.
