The MIAA identified the passenger as Cipriano de Guzman, who was bound for Taiwan via China Airlines flight CI702.

He was brought from the NAIA Terminal 1 to the Aviation Security Group of the Philippine National Police for investigation and will be transferred to Pasay City’s Fiscal Office for inquest procedures.

The passenger may face charges of illegal possession of explosives and bladed weapon.

MIAA General Manager Jose Angel Honrado said NAIA passengers have to go through security screenings at least twice in the terminals to make sure that prohibited items are seized prior to boarding.
