(CNN Philippines) — Rico Maierhofer of Barako Bull has been summoned by the Philippine Basketball Association’s (PBA) Office of the Commissioner for his “shoe block” in the Energy’s game against San Miguel Beer on Wednesday (May 28).
Maierhofer lost his shoe midway in the second quarter and tried to block Gabby Espinas’ layup attempt on the following play with the shoe.
Espinas ended up losing the ball and the possession for the Beermen, who eventually beat Barako Bull for their fourth straight win.

The Barako Bull center is expected to meet with outgoing PBA commissioner Chito Salud on Friday (May 29) to air his side of the incident.
