(CNN Philippines) — In a move to meet the high demand, unaccredited taxis are now allowed to pick up passengers at Terminals 2 and 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The new move is seen to shorten the taxi line and waiting time of some passengers which could last between two to three hours.
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said that the window hour for regular taxis vary depending on the terminal.
Fares also differ depending on the mode of transport.
Based on information from taxi drivers, rent-a-car companies and coupon taxis, traveling from NAIA to Pasay or Paranaque could cost from P70 to P550.
The fare range from NAIA to Makati, on the other hand, could range from P160 to P800.

On its first day of implementation on Monday (April 20), the MIAA extended the window hour due to the long lines.
Some passengers, however, still choose to take the accredited taxis even if it’s more expensive.
“I am safer with the yellow taxi because it’s accredited,” taxi passenger Nelfa Mandy said in Filipino.
Though unaccredited taxis are already allowed, the MIAA still warned passengers to ride with caution due to complaints of overcharging and cases of holdup and robbery.
