According to 6th ID spokesperson Capt. Jo-ann Petinglay, an undetermined number of suspected BIFF bandits reportedly harassed troops from the 1st Mechanized Brigade and peppered their headquarters located in Barangay Kabingi, Datu Saudi Ampatuan town.
The shooting, which happened around 10 p.m., lasted for 10 minutes.
No one was reported hurt nor killed among the government troopers and that the armored vehicles parked near the headquarters did not incur any damage, Petinglay said.
Members of the 1st Mechanized Brigade returned fire after occupying their respective battle positions, which, according to the 6th ID spokesperson, may have wounded fighters from the enemy side.
