Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — “Maintain and uphold all the time the integrity and credibility of this institution,” outgoing Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said in a speech she delivered on Monday (October 12) before officials and employees of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
De Lima admitted that she faced difficulties during her term as DOJ chief.
“It really takes a superman or a superwoman to lead a very premiere, important, and crucial institution as the DOJ,” she said.
She added that, while her performance as DOJ secretary may be questioned, the zeal, dedication, and enthusiasm she showed during her tenure could never be challenged.
She said she did everything to make sure that her work “meaningful” for most people.
She would not forget her time at the DOJ, she said.
If she succeeds in her bid to get a Senate seat, she said she would file bills to strengthen DOJ and improve its credibility and integrity.
