Sandiganbayan reduces Reyes, Napoles trial days

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Sandiganbayan Third Division will hear the plunder case of Atty. Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes and businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles twice a week.

The anti-graft court originally scheduled trial proceedings thrice a week beginning January until July this year. But both Reyes and Napoles filed motions objecting to a marathon trial.

Napoles asked the court to limit the hearings to once a week.

The court partially granted the motion and reduced the hearings from thrice to twice a week.

Their plunder trial is set to begin next Wednesday, January 20.

Reyes and Napoles are accused of conspiring with Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile to funnel millions in pork funds to bogus projects.
